Service scope 1
Promote the joint building of a Green Silk Road and
implement the China-Latin America Academic Community Initiative
By aligning with Latin America’s green development strategies tailored to their national contexts, we will fully leverage the academic strengths, talent advantages, and resource capabilities of both universities in the humanities and social sciences. We aim to pool high-quality academic resources from China and Latin America, integrate the strengths of top universities from both regions, and implement the China-Latin America Academic Community Initiative.
Focusing on the Green Silk Road, we will advance Latin America’s participation in the Belt and Road Initiative’s green development efforts, promoting environmental protection, climate action, and the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Centering on sustainability, we will collaborate with the Sino-Portuguese Civilizational Exchange and Mutual Learning Research Center (under preparation) and the tripartite cooperation mechanism between Renmin University of China, the University of Macau, and the University of Coimbra (Portugal) to organize annual international forums, academic conferences, and workshops, bringing together experts and scholars from across the strait and Portuguese-speaking countries for in-depth discussions.
Our goal is to refine globally replicable governance models, offering Renmin University’s wisdom and solutions to meet Latin America’s green development needs. We will establish the "China-Latin America Green Future and Civilizational Mutual Learning" Annual Forum to foster knowledge dissemination and build bridges for exchange. Through Sino-Latin American civilization dialogue, we will enhance our university’s global influence, actively disseminating China’s voice, theories, and ideas on the international stage.
